MODIFIED

  • Type of Vehicle
Hardtop two-wheel drive factory stock vehicle (Full size, mid-size and compact
cars, compact trucks, mini vans, compact SUV’s will be allowed). NO FULL SIZE
PICKUP TRUCKS, NO FULL SIZE VANS, AND NO FULL SIZE SUVS WILL BE
    ALLOWED FOR SAFETY REASONS.
No convertibles. T top cars will be allowed if covered with sheet metal. Sunroofs
must have some type of covering to protect occupants in the event of a roll over.
Engine must be factory stock 4, 6, or 8 cylinder.
No four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles unless front or rear drive shaft has been
    removed.
Vehicle must be strictly stock, No bracing of any kind allowed.
No welding or locking of axles is allowed front or rear, vehicle must be as it came
    from factory.
No cross breeding of engines is allowed, must be a factory stock engine to that
vehicle. Engine must be completely stock as came from factory.

    Vehicle Preparation

Remove all glass from vehicle including headlights, taillights and side mirrors
All bumper covers, foam, and plastic must be removed from the outside of the
    vehicle.
Anything that is not metal and may fall onto track must be removed from the
    vehicle’s body.
    Interior must be stripped.
Battery must be relocated to the passenger floorboard inside the vehicle, and
must be secured well. *If you have a passenger riding with you, the battery must
be relocated to the back seat area.
Every vehicle is required to have rollover protection of a minimal 2-point “halo
type” rollover bar. Rollover bar is recommended to remain inside the vehicle but
may be outside the vehicle if the driver prefers. This is for your protection, and
must be strong and attached well. If officials do not feel you have adequate
rollover protection you will not compete. This means if we can physically move
your bar by hand, you will not race. This is to keep you as safe as possible.
For driver and passenger protection if you are only running a “halo type” roll bar
and do not have a 4 point cage inside the vehicle you must have some form of  door                                                                                                 protection outside both doors that will be occupied, such as a grader blade
or “Channel” running from the front post to the center post of vehicle and bolted
securely. This is not to be used to strengthen the overall vehicle, only for the
    safety of the vehicle occupants.
If your vehicle has a full roll cage or you are using a derby type cage, it must not
extend through the firewall in the front of drivers compartment or through the
backrest of the back seat area in the rear. Cages shall not be attached to the
frame only the body or floor pan as to not strengthen the vehicle. IF THE
CAGE/DOOR PROTECTION OR ROLL BAR IS DEEMED UNSAFE BY
OFFICAL YOU WILL BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO EITHER FIX IT OR LOAD IT!
All fuel tanks must be removed from underneath the vehicle and be placed inside
the vehicle. Fuel Cells are recommended but factory tanks will be allowed for
fuel-injected vehicles. Once the tank has been moved inside it must be protected,
strongly secured, and covered. Preferably all vehicles will have a frame
extending from the safety cage or “halo Bar” that the tank is attached to and
protected by as to not be knocked loose when the sheet metal of the floor pan
begins to bend. If you plan to compete in these types of events in the future, the
purchase of a high-pressure fuel pump and a fuel cell is strongly recommended
as it can be moved from vehicle to vehicle with ease.

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL VEHICLES HAVE A SMALL

FIRE EXTINGUISHER MOUNTED IN THE VEHICLE WITHIN REACH OF BOTH

    DRIVER AND PASSENGER.

All vehicles must have working brakes.

If vehicle has a factory stock bumper that is plastic, you may replace it with any
OEM bumper; bumper may be seam welded and capped. No extremely pointy
bumpers will be allowed. OR you may use a homemade bumper (4x4x1⁄4 MAX).
Bumper should not extend farther than 8in past the outside of each frame rail.
ABSOLUTELY NO POINT on homemade bumpers. Please attach all bumpers
well by welding, chaining, or bolting to keep them from falling off during the
competition. This is to be done within reason only to keep bumpers attached.
Drivers will be allowed 2 pieces of strapping (4in MAX) from core support to
bumper and from deck lid to rear bumper. The strap should be on the outer edge
of the radiator hole. This is not to make the car stronger, and is only intended to
help keep bumpers attached. Do not push this rule or make a gray area from this.
It is very simple and to keep bumpers on these cars front and rear.
Doors must be welded, chained, bolted, or wired shut.
Hoods must be bolted, chained, or wired with a maximum of 8 places. All thread
    may be used.

ALL HOODS MUST HAVE A HOLE CUT IN THEM AS CLOSE TO 12X12

INCHES AS POSSIBLE. This is to allow access to extinguish any fire that may
occur in engine bay quickly during the race.
Exhaust can flow under the vehicle or through the hood.
REMOVE ANY AND ALL AIRBAGS. DO NOT JUST UNPLUG THEM. If a
vehicle is found to have an airbag still in it then it must be removed completely
before entering the track or the vehicle will not compete. This is for your safety.
You may use any wheel/tire to your preference. Tires must be made of rubber.
Vehicle must have a seat belt for both driver and passenger, and must be used
during competition. Racing Harnesses will be allowed.
All vehicles must have a large number on each side of the vehicle that is clearly
visible. It is recommended to also have a roof sign. Make numbers visible and
large. This helps the fair board guarantee an accurate lap count for each
    participant.

ALL CARS MUST HAVE A HOLE CUT IN FLOORBOARD AS CLOSE TO 8X8

AS POSSIBLE WITH A PIECE OF FLAT METAL OR SQUARE TUBING

BOLTED ACROSS THE HOLE TO MOUNT TRANSPONDER.

When Building a car for this event there are NO GREY AREAS. DO NOT
    ASSUME you can just do something that might be questionable by the officials;
these vehicles are to remain as close to stock as possible other than safety
    requirements.
Absolutely no added metal in or on the frame or body of the vehicle other than
what has been designated for safety. IF ANY ADDED METAL IS FOUND IN AN
ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE VEHICLE STRONGER YOU WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED TO CUT, YOU WILL NOT RACE, AND YOU WILL BE LOADED ON
THE TRAILER. THERE WILL BE NO SECOND CHANCES TO MAKE IT RIGHT
WHEN IT COMES TO THIS RULE. THIS IS TO BE AS CLOSE TO A STOCK
VEHICLE AS POSSIBLE OTHER THAN THE CHANGES ALLOWED IN THE
RULES. DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO ENTER A VEHICLE THAT HAS BEEN
LOADED, THERE IS NO EXCUSE AND YOU WILL NOT RACE. WE RESERVE
THE RIGHT TO CHECK ANY ENTRY AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE
RACE FOR ANY INFRACTION OF THIS RULE. IF QUESTIONABLE, ALL
WINNING VEHICLES MAY BE CHECKED FOLLOWING THE END OF THE
EVENT. IF METAL IS FOUND, THEY WILL FORFEIT ALL WINNINGS TO THE
    NEXT PLACING DRIVER.
This is meant to be a very easy build and to allow for everyone to be competitive,
if you have a question regarding the rules please contact Josh Kee
270-205-9329 OR Donne Whited 270-564-9326. If you are a member of the
Marshall County Motorsports Facebook group, feel free to post any questionS
you have there in fairness to all drivers that they will be aware of what is being
questioned and what is being done to resolve.
